Specialty Solutions
Some contaminants require targeted treatment that goes beyond softening or standard filtration. The ONE™ product line addresses lead, PFAS, cysts, and other emerging contaminants with certified, precision filtration.

Most water treatment products are designed for the most common problems — hardness, iron, chlorine. But water can contain a long list of other contaminants that those systems weren’t built to address.
PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are increasingly detected in Iowa water supplies. Lead can leach from older plumbing. Cysts like Cryptosporidium and Giardia pass through many standard filters. Specialty solutions exist specifically to close those gaps.
The ONE™ filter line from Evolve is designed to work standalone or alongside existing treatment systems — adding a targeted layer of protection for the contaminants your softener or carbon filter can’t catch.
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances — linked to health concerns at low levels. Increasingly found in Iowa groundwater near agricultural and industrial areas.
Can leach from older pipes and fixtures. No safe level has been established for children. NSF-certified lead reduction is the only reliable way to know you’re protected.
Microscopic parasites that survive chlorination and pass through many standard filters. Serious health risk for immunocompromised individuals.
Targeted. Certified. Effective.
Three distinct products built around the same goal — addressing the contaminants that standard treatment misses.
The ONE™ Cartridge Filter is an NSF-certified point-of-use filter designed to remove lead, PFOA/PFOS, and cysts at a single tap — typically the kitchen. It installs under the sink alongside or in place of an RO system, providing certified protection where your drinking and cooking water comes from.
The ONE™ Contaminant Reduction System pairs a pre-filter with the ONE™ cartridge to extend filter life and broaden contaminant removal. The pre-filter handles sediment and larger particles before they reach the primary cartridge — protecting it and doubling its effective lifespan.
In-line cartridge filters are the most versatile option — small, low-profile housings that install in-line with your existing plumbing and can be loaded with different media depending on what you need to remove. They’re commonly used as pre-filters or post-filters alongside larger systems, or as standalone solutions for specific targeted problems.
Removes particles, sand, rust, and turbidity. Protects downstream equipment.
Removes chlorine, tastes, odors, and some VOCs at a specific point of use.
Custom configurations for specific contaminants based on your water test results.
PFAS in Iowa Water — What You Should Know
PFAS — a group of thousands of synthetic chemicals used in everything from non-stick cookware to firefighting foam — have been detected in water supplies across Iowa, including in agricultural areas where these compounds have been applied or deposited over decades.
The EPA established a maximum contaminant level for six specific PFAS compounds in 2024. Because they don’t break down naturally in the environment, PFAS accumulate over time — in soil, water, and in the human body.
Standard carbon filters provide some reduction. Reverse osmosis and NSF-certified specialty filters like the ONE™ system provide the most reliable removal. A water test can detect PFAS presence — something we can arrange as part of a comprehensive water quality assessment.
Are You at Higher Risk?
- Private well near agricultural land
- Near a military base or airport
- Near industrial facilities
- Shallow well (less than 100 ft)
- In an area with known PFAS detections
Know What’s in Your Water
The only way to know if specialty treatment is right for you is to test. A free water test covers the most common concerns — and we can arrange additional testing for PFAS, lead, arsenic, and other specific contaminants on request.
